Things to keep in mind with Tablets
- Tablets are peripheral devices, not fully functioning computers
- iPads are tied to a primary computer for software updates
- Features change, apps updated almost daily
- learn how to learn how to use them
- The iPad barely existed a year ago
- expect changes over the next year
- this is an exciting tool
We recommend a few research support tools for the iPad, though other products work very well too.
- NOTE: Android tablets are, as of Spring 2011, still a minority of the devices on the market, but they will likely increase in market share.
- Most of the things mentioned for iPad can be done on an Android device, but we don't have any slides of Android-based tablets to share
